Dove Computers trek for Charity

Please donate what you can to this incredible charity.

Dove Computers trek for Charity

This September, our very own Chloe (Digital Marketing Assistant) and Yi (Managing Director) will be taking part in a 20.5 mile trek across the Peak District with the aim of raising money for the Safe & Sound Group.

The trek begins on Sunday 9th September from 8.30am – around 5pm (depending on our speed!) from Edale.
We then cover locations such as Dark Peak, Kinder Scout, Mam Tor and the Hope Valley – which all sound rather hilly… not worrying for a non-hiker at all!

Any donations for this cause would be gratefully received on our JustGiving page or in store by a member of our team.

But who are we doing this trek for?

The Charity

Safe & Sound are a small Derbyshire based charity fighting against child exploitation and supporting vulnerable young people in the local area.
Established in 2002, Safe & Sound Group not only support the victims of sexual abuse, exploitation or violence but also their families and close network, encouraging them as they work their way forwards in their life.

On top of their unparalleled one to one support of victims and their family, Safe & Sound also offer national training programs in an open or bespoke in house setting. This training goes a long way in their goal of preventing child sexual exploitation (CSE) and allows those working alongside young people to understand the signs before it’s too late.

The Trekkers

Yi Jone Li

Yi is quite an active individual who enjoys scenery, long walks and nature. He and his family spend a great deal of their free time enjoying our great outdoors.

Yi said: “I have always been passionate about what Safe and Sound Group have done to stop child exploitation. We have been following their progress, aims and work since we started our relationship with them. I am more than happy to help their cause”

Chloe Read

Chloe loves the outdoors – most of the time. More of a movie-buff than outdoors woman, she’s joining the trek for the fantastic cause over the ‘enjoyment’ of a 20 mile trek! Nevertheless as an avid photography fan she is looking forward to the beautiful landscapes, despite however questionable the September weather could prove.

Chloe said: “I’m always happy to make a fool out of myself for a good cause, I can imagine the wheezing mess I’ll become on this trek will certainly do just that! Safe & Sound are an amazing charity with employees that really care about the work they do and each and every person they encounter and I am so proud to be joining this trek. I hope the money we raise will make a difference for the charity.”

How can you help?

Whilst we are happy to give our time and money to this amazing charity, the sheer volume of work they cover and the huge number of young people they support – they need and deserve all the help we, as a county, have to give.

If you wanted to take part in the trek yourself and raise money for Safe & Sound and the work that they do, you can sign up here.
However not all of us have the spare time or perhaps aren’t as crazy as an individual that sometimes drives to the local shop… so in which case you can donate to our walk and follow our Facebook and Twitter account for live updates of our journey on the day.

Any donations will be gratefully received, no matter how big or small they may be, as Tesco say – Every Little Helps!

Thank you.
