Support Engineer/Network Administrator, Full-time
Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1st/2nd Line IT Support Engineer. Dove Computer Solutions is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Support Engineer to deputise for the IT Manager & assist with a broad spectrum of I.T. services for a large number of home and SME clients.

As a Support Engineer you will provide post sales technical remote, telephone and onsite support for IT networks. These networks are built using mainly Microsoft solutions; therefore you must be competent in installing and maintaining products provided by Microsoft.

Excellent communication skills, are essential and we expect the successful candidate to demonstrate a good ability to work unsupervised, be self-motivated, but also able to work well as part of a small team. Impeccable customer service skills and a friendly approach are also essential qualities. Your duties will involve:

- Remote, telephone and onsite 1st/2nd Line Support
- On-site evaluating, installation and post support of Windows/SBS server networks

To excel as a Support Engineer, you should be a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) (2000 or 2003) and hold an O Level/GCSE Mathematics and English Language Grade B or above. You should also have at least 2 years experience in an IT Support role and be educated at least to HND or degree level. An ideal candidate will be numerate, analytical, have good communication skills and be able to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and be self-motivated.

You will also hold a strong technical understanding and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the following:

- Windows 2000/2003
- Windows 2003 server operating system
- Local Area Networks
- Databases
- Active Directory Configuration
- Exchange 2003
- ISA Server and network security firewalls
- VPN (client and site-to-site) configuration
-Terminal Services
- Microsoft desktop environment is desirable

Essential to your success, will be your competency in the deployment of Microsoft OS/Applications (Windows 2003, SBS, Exchange, IIS, SQL, Veritas Backup, McAfee Total Security), routers and switches. You must also have solid experience within the industry, and hold a full UK Driving License including your own transportation.
